PCFSC 03-12 & 13 ELDERLY DISABLED PROGRAM
INTERESTED BIDDERS:
There are currently a number properties which require various degrees
of
removing pine needles, clearing brush, thinning and/or trimming trees
which will require chipping or removal within a hundred-foot radii of
residences occupied by elderly or disabled people. To be eligible to
bid,
contractors must enter into a contract with Plumas Corporation. Proof
of Workers Compensation Insurance and Liability Insurance is required.

The Long Valley Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project (LVHFR) was developed as part of the Plumas County Fire Safe Council's (PFSC) strategy to reduce hazardous fuel conditions surrounding communities at risk. The project is located in the general Sloat, Cromburg and Long Valley areas, T23N, R11E, Sections 10, 11, 12 and 13, MDM in Plumas County. Access is gained from State Highway 70/89 and associated county and private roads. Approximately 218 acres have been identified for treatment using mechanical and hand applications. This prospectus is intended to solicit potential contractors interested in performing hazardous fuel reduction tasks to the specifications provided below.
The C Road Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project (CRHFR) was developed as part of the Plumas County Fire Safe Council's (PFSC) strategy to reduce hazardous fuel conditions surrounding communities at risk. The project is located in the general C Road area, T22N, R12E, Sections 13, 23, 24, and 25, MDM in Plumas County. Access is gained from State Highways 70 and 89 and associated county roads. Approximately 129 acres have been identified for treatment using mechanical and conventional applications. This prospectus is intended to solicit potential contractors interested in performing hazardous fuel reduction tasks to the specifications provided below.
Project funding has been provided by HR 2389, Title II funds.
Plumas Corporation, on behalf of the Plumas County Fire Safe Council, is seeking the professional services of a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) licensed in the State of California to act as a consultant. The consultant(s) will design, develop, coordinate and implement one to three of the following private lands fuels reduction projects: 1) Greenhorn Subdivision, 2) Whitehawk Ranch and 3) on Grizzly Creek Road during 2005-2006. RPF should provide proposals on the projects described below.
The RPF(s) will be working closely with the Plumas County Fire
Safe Council, private landowners, University of California Cooperative
Extension and Plumas Corporation in the selection of specific acreages
to be treated and the treatment regime. The basic prescription is
“thin from below” with the objective to reduce the
expected flame length on the treated acres to 2'-4'. There is an
expectation that sawlogs and biomass will be produced by the project.
All resultant revenues will be devoted to the project to partially or
entirely cover fuels reduction contractor (LTO) costs.

The Red Clover Estates (RCHFR) was developed as
part of the Plumas County Fire Safe Council’s (PFSC) strategy
to reduce hazardous fuel conditions surrounding communities at
risk. The project is located in the eastern Genesee Valley
area, T26N, R12E, Section 31, MDM in Plumas County. Access is
gained from the Antelope and Lower Mill Roads. Approximately 64 acres
have been identified for treatment using mechanical

PCFSC 05-06
The Whitehawk Ranch Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project
(WHRHFR) was developed as part of the Plumas County Fire
Safe Council's (PFSC) strategy to reduce hazardous fuel conditions
surrounding communities at risk. The project is located on Whitehawk
Ranch Lands, T21N, R13E, Section 6, MDM in Plumas County. Access is
gained from State Highway 89 and associated county and private roads.
Approximately 121 acres have been identified for treatment using
mechanical applications. This prospectus

PCFSC 06-01
The West Almanor Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project
(WACCHFR) 07UFS9362HFR was developed as part of the
Plumas County Fire Safe Council’s (PFSC) strategy to reduce
hazardous fuel conditions surrounding communities at risk. The project
is located on Project Name Lands, T28N, R7E, Section 32, MDBM in Plumas
County. Access is gained from Hwy 89, 5 miles south of the Hwy 36
& 89 intersection, by taking the “West
Almanor” entrance road that is indicated by a highway sign.
Approximately 17 acres have been identified for treatment using
mechanical applications. This prospectus is intended to solicit
potential contractors interested in performing hazardous fuel reduction
tasks to the specifications provided below.
PCFSC 05-08
The Grizzly Creek Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project-(grant
number 06-DG-11051150-013) was developed as part of the Plumas County
Fire Safe Council's (PFSC) strategy to reduce hazardous fuel conditions
surrounding communities at risk. The project is located on private land
in the vicinity of Grizzly Creek, east of Portola, T23N, R14E, Section
8, Mount Diablo Base and Meridian (MDB&M) in Plumas County.
Access is gained from the junction of Willow Way and Grizzly Creek
Road, approximately three miles north of State Hwy 70 between Portola
and Beckwourth. Approximately 130 acres have been identified for
treatment using mechanical applications; 54 acres under a Notice of
Emergency Timber Operations and 76 acres under a Forest Fire Prevention
Exemption This prospectus is intended to solicit potential contractors
interested in performing hazardous fuel reduction tasks to the
specifications provided below.
PCFSC 05-07
The Greenhorn Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project
(GHFR) was developed as part of the Plumas County Fire Safe
Council’s (PFSC) strategy to reduce hazardous fuel conditions
surrounding communities at risk. The project is located in the general
Greenhorn Ranch area, T24N, R11E, within Section 33, MDBM, in Plumas
County. Access is available from State Highway 70/89 to Greenhorn Road.
Approximately 25.5 acres of Community Services District (CSD) property
have been identified for commercial thinning, biomassing, and possibly
mastication. This prospectus is intended to solicit potential
contractors interested in performing hazardous fuel reduction tasks to
the specifications provided below.
PCFSC 06-03
Massack Hazardous Fuel Reduction Project(MHFR)
was developed as part of the Plumas County Fire Safe
Council’s (PFSC) strategy to reduce hazardous fuel conditions
surrounding communities at risk. The project is located in the Massack
area, T24N, R10E, within Section 14, MDBM, in Plumas County. Access is
available from State Highway 70/89 and United States Forest Service
Road 25N41. Approximately 160 acres of private property has been
identified for commercial thinning, biomass harvesting, and ground
fuels reduction. This prospectus is intended to solicit potential
contractors interested in performing hazardous fuel reduction tasks to
the specifications provided below.
PCFSC 07-06
The Taylorsville Campground Hazardous Fuel Reduction
Project (TCHFR)
was developed as part of the Plumas County Fire Safe
Council’s (PFSC) strategy to reduce hazardous
fuel conditions surrounding communities at risk.
The project is located on Plumas County owned land, Sec. 26 &
35, T26N, R10E, MDB&M.
Access is gained from Hwy 89, then taking County Road 207 east into
Taylorsville.
The project is located approximately .4 miles east of Taylorsville,
immediately east of the Taylorsville Rodeo grounds on County Road 112.
Approximately 26 acres have been identified for treatment using a hand
release/pile/chipping & burn application. This prospectus is
intended to solicit potential contractors interested in performing
hazardous fuel reduction tasks to the specifications provided below.
